Dr. R. Joseph Tricquet Jr.
Pastor
Dr. Tricquet, “Bro. Joby” to most, has been McElwain’s pastor since the summer of 2009. He is a graduate of Samford University (B.A. ’87), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div. ’90), and Samford’s Beeson Divinity School (D.Min. ’01).
Joby is a native of Tallahassee FL, and grew up in Albany GA. He and his wife Cathy have been married since 1987, and are the proud parents of three sons – Austin, Tyler, and Jordan.
Jody Baker
Minister of Education and Administrator
Jody Baker has been on McElwain’s staff since 1981, and has served as the church’s Minister of Education and Administrator since 1996. She is a graduate of Samford University (B.S. ‘80), U.A.B. (M.E. ’81) and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (MCE ‘90).
Dr. Joseph Hopkins
Minister of Music
Joe Hopkins began serving as McElwain’s Minister of Music in October 2010. He is also the Dean of the School of the Arts at Samford University. Joe is a graduate of Shorter College (B.M. ’88), Baylor University (M.M ‘90), and Indiana University (D.M. ‘04).
Joe is from Georgia. He and His wife Suzanne have been married since 1992. They have two sons, Joseph and Vance.
Sonny Gray
Minister of Youth
Sonny Gray is a graduate of Auburn University (B.A. ‘98), and has continued studies at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Sonny is from Birmingham. He and his wife Jenny have been married since 2002. They have two daughters, Elizabeth and Natalie, and one son, Buck.
