Staff

Kindergarten

Lucy Bloodworth — Lucy has her undergraduate degree from Auburn University as well as both a Masters & an A.A. from the University of Alabama in Birmingham (all three in Early Childhood Education). She is retired from the Birmingham City School system where she taught kindergarten for 25 years.

Grade 1

Candice Milam — Candice is McElwain Christian Academy’s first grade teacher, is from Alpharetta, Georgia.  She graduated from Samford University with a Collaborative Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, and Elementary Education.

Grade 2

Ashley Morris — Ashley is the second grade teacher at MCA.  Ashley graduated from the University of South Carolina with an undergraduate degree (English) and Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education.  She has served on the staff of UAB in the area of Developmental Reading.  Prior to that, she taught second grade at Cherokee Bend Elementary School for one year, and Hawk Ridge Elementary (Charlotte, NC) for three years.
