08/16 - School Committee Update

After much prayer and hard work, the McElwain Christian School Committee has recommended to the church that we not pursue opening a Christian school for K5 through Grade 5 in Fall 2007. Instead, we are considering opening with a K5 only in 2007 with the possibility of adding a grade each year. This recommendation was based on prayerful consideration of data gathered from a commissioned feasibility study, two community-wide informational meetings, our current financial standing, consulting with experts in the field of Christian education, and numerous meetings. We will meet further in early 2007 and make reports and recommendations to the church family at appropriate times. Please continue praying for the committee and our church as we seek to help parents educate and make disciples of their children.
